Shopping

Day 2 of the conference is underway and is going well, but in the morning Akbar and I ran off to get my ticket to Makassar this Friday. Afterwards we went to Tunjungan Plaza, the giant mall in the center of town:




And had a "Doner Kebob," one of my favorite meals from when I've lived in Surabaya before.


Afterwards we headed to Mirota on Sulawesi street. The BEST place for good batik around in my experience:



Got a bunch of great stuff for gifts back home, and splurged for myself - got a real antique hand-drawn batik with a stunning pattern - here's just a little piece of it:



Now back to the meeting!

Doner Kebob? I had one of those in France. What's that chain's country of orgin?

No clue, but it may very well be an international chain - there's an A&W, MacDonald's, etc in the same food court...
