Back to Irvine email!
Last night I wasn't able to access my Irvine email (tboellst@uci.edu); now it seems to be working (and access to gmail (tboellst@gmail.com) is difficult!), so please use my Irvine email again. Sorry for moving back and forth; it's just an issue of which is easier to access. It's probably best to just email me at both email addresses to make sure one at least gets through on this dial-up connection halfway around the world.

Looks like you are doing well and that you left Jakarta just in time. I was not so lucky since I came the weekend of the floods and couldn't get my letters from LIPI, police, and so on. But now everything is in order and I am set up in Mataram, Lombok until June.

Glad you're set up! It took me a little longer to get all my documents in order too. Linda Bennett is there in Lombok right now - hopefully you'll get a chance to meet up with her.
